I am a mixed media artist, and I create work about my mother’s Polish heritage and the effects that growing up Catholic has had on my gender and sexuality expression. I use mediums such as craft art, coded machine embroidery, wood, and textiles. I work with an organic textile called “SCOBY”, or symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast, which is a slimy sheet that grows on top of fermented foods, such as kombucha.
